UFC on Fuel: post fight

Sorry about this one i Completly forgot this fight was even happing so soon. I would have given a prediction but I ended up having to watch it after the fact. Weidman was extremly impressive in his win over Munzo. He was great everywhere from the ground to the feet. Complete domination. He might actually stand a chance at beating anderson Silva ( I know i just said last week there was no one for him to fight at middleweight). I believe after Silva retires this guy will be taking over the divison.

Positive: comedies are often hard to go by from other people's reviews because it is all about if you think it is funny. For me I thought for the most part it was in fact pretty funny.

Negative: There were some parts when the movie got too cartoony and the ending draged on a little to much.

UFC 148 Results

UFC 148 did not disappoint. Silva had a tough first round with Sonnen but was able to stop him quite easily in the second cementing his place as the best fighter in the world. I do not want to hear anymore talk of him fighting at middleweight as far as I am concerned his work is done there. Either he moves up in weight or he fights GSP in my mind. Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin stole the show though. They had another close and very exciting fight which earned them both fight of the night. Griffin edged out the decision but was a bit unclassy as he tried to walk out of the arena before the results were given and interviewed Ortiz after the fight by taking the mic away from Joe Rogen earning him a ton of boos.  I was let down by Cote though he should have been able to be Le especially at the end of the fight when he was gassed but Cote just was not aggressive enough. My official predictions are now at 7-2.

UFC 148 Tonight!

Don't miss the biggest fight of the year tonight on pay per view tonight at 10pm (ET). There hasn't been a fight this big in a long time (probably since UFC 100). If Sonnen wins he puts him self up there as one of the greatest fighters in the world and proves the first fight wasn't a fluke. If Silva wins his work at middlewieght is done and he proves his is the best pound for pound fighter in the world once and for all. He needs to either retire after a win here or move up to 205/have a catch weight fight with GSP. Enjoy the fights!

The Amazing Spider Man Review

The Positive: It was a lot better then I expected. After seeing all the commercials and trailers I did not think this movie was going to be that great. I like Spider-Man he is one if not my favorite Marvel Superhero so I have very high expectations for anything he is in. With that said the movie was pretty good. the acting was better then most superhero movies especially from the actors who played spider man and Qwen Stacey. More notable performances include Martin Sheen and Denis Leary. The special effects were great and the action was pretty cool. I also liked that they tried to make some things different from the Sam Rami films such as introducing a new vilian and keeping Peter in high school.

The Negative: The introduction was slow. It took Peter Parker to long to become spider man but that could be forgiven because they were trying to flesh out his past more. The worse part about this movie though. is comparing it to the Sam Rami/Toby Spider-Man films. I would have to say I did enjoy those films more and they hold a special place for those films being some of the best superhero movies ever made. It is hard to watch this and not think of what could have been with a Spider Man 4 from Rami. As long as you can get past that and just sit back and enjoy this movie for what it is you will have a good time.

UFC 148 Predictions

The most anticipated rematch in a long long time is coming this Saturday. I have hated all the rematches the UFC has been doing lately. Normally I am not a fan of rematches but this fight is the excepting. Sonnen got the closest to beating Anderson Silva of anyone in Anderson's entire UFC career. I think this fight will go in the exact opposite direction or their last bout. I believe last time was a fluke and had more to do with there being something wrong with Silva then then Sonnen being good enough to beat him. Silva will dominate this fight and most likely take it by knock out this time and he will but on a show making Chael look very bad. For my second prediction I am picking Forrest over Tito in their trilogy. It should be someone competitive early but as the fight goes on Griffin will get stronger as Ortiz gets weaker. Forrest should win by decision or a late TKO due to Ortiz curling up and quiting like he has in some of his more recent fights. For my final pick of the card I'm taking Cote over Le. Chung Le is one of the most overrated fighters in all of MMA and I see cote Winning by either a hard fought decision or a quick KO when ever Le gases out.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter Review

Positive: Badass axe action. I can't remember a movie were the protagonist used an axe as his main weopon and I know I have never seen a movie where someone uses an axe with that kind of skill ( I should have expected nothing less from good old honest ab). Also the movie had an interesting take on president Lincoln's life. 

Negative: The movie felt a bit to long and the second have when Lincoln is now president feels disconnected from the first half of the movie(not quite as good).

Movie Review: Seeking a friend for the End of the World

Positive: A bunch of could comedy mixed in with believable emotion(mainly the relationship between the two main characters). The movie also made an interesting take on what everyone in the world was doing with their last days on earth that you do not normally see in an end of the world movie. In addition i thought the dog is cute. Finally (spoiler warning) I like how they actually went through with the end of the world instead of using some cheap gimmick having everyone live happily ever after.


Negative: It was funny but I was not dieing laughing. Also i did find any of the other characters in the movie likable besides the two main characters so I did not really care if anyone else lived or died.

Movie Review: That's My Boy

Positive: I have seen a lot of reviews for this movie and they were not to good to say the least. I was expecting them to be wrong because most movie critics have no idea what is funny and I was right. This movie was hilarious from beginning to end. If you like Adam Sandler movies you will defiantly like this or if you like laughing.


Negative: Andy Sandberg was a little flat he is normally funnier then this but he was playing the straight man in the film so I will cut him some slack.

UFC Results

Well things went down as I predicted for the most part. The gray maynard fight from friday was much closer(on the judges scorecards) then I thought it would be. I think they just randomly select people of the street who may or may not know what the UFC is to be a judge because I have no idea how one judge in the split decision could have thought Clay won the fight by running away for 5 rounds. The franklin fight on Saturday almost went to Silva in the second round. I really thought the judge was going to stop the fight but Rich survived and went on the win a decision. My public predictions are now up to 5 and 1. My record says it all I am good at this ; ).

UFC double prediction

In light of the fact there are going to be two UFC's this weekend I am going to do two predictions today. First for the UFC on FX this friday I believe gray maynerd will have an easy unanimous decision over clay guida anyway he wants whether it be striking or on the ground. For saturday's bout rich franklin is replacing vitor belfort for a rematch with wandila silva. I believe this fight will go down in a very similar fashion to thier first bout only rich should have an easier time since the furth silva is from his pride days the worse he seems to get.

How Smallville Should Have Ended(Coming Soon)

Smallville is my favorite show of all times without a doubt and a decade of my life well spent. The first 3 seasons were absolute perfection(genius making Clark and Lex best friends). The 4th stumbled a little with the Lana being a witch story line but the 5th season brought it back with the introduction of the Fortress/the emotional death of Mr. Kent. Seasons 6 and 7 brought us to the full turning of Lex to the dark side with him finally becoming the Luthor he was always meant to be by killing his father. Then Michael Rosenbaum left the show which they tried to replace him with other villains but it just wasn't the same. Thankfully Tom Welling was able to carry the show till its end in season 10.

Then came the finally They were able to get Michael Rosenbaum back and many other fan favorites but things did not go the way they should have. It was good but not what it could have been so I will write up how i thought Smallville should have gone out in the coming days and hopefully have it up next week.

Prometheus Review

Positive: I liked how the movie was set in the Alien movie universe and the whole concept/story was great about how they were trying to find the beings from another world that created humans on Earth to find the meaning of life. There were some really great special effects in this movie and Michael Fassbender's performance was amazing as usual.

Negative: On the reverse side to what I said about liking the concept I did not like how this movie asked all this Important life questions but never answered any of them. It also felt like there could have been a better more thoughtful/philosophical climax to the movie

New Movie reviews:MIB 3

I am going to start doing some movie reviews now mostly of current movies and maybe sometimes bring in oldies. Lets start off with MIB 3.

Negative: On the downside the Movie's villain was very one note and was not very memorable. Also the movie had a slow start and i may have given it a SKIP IT rating if it had not been for the ending being so emotionally involving and tieing up the whole movie if not the series.

Positive: Now on to the movie. The performances by all the actors involved were what you expect from seeing the previous MIB movies except for young K who really  stood out in a good way. There was some good comedy and decent action in the movie but nothing to spectacular. Like I said earlier the ending makes this movie worth watching though

Well it is finally happening. Now that Smallville is in comic book form they are getting Superman together with batman and also night wing will be joining him but not the dick greyson nightwing. It may not be happing on TV but this is the next best thing.

It has been a week now since E3 2012 started and now it has come and gone. All three big players had very poor conferences. No new systems besides Nintendo's previously announced wii U(which was unimpressive) and no game announcements that were not already known. Wii U only matchs the current generations graphically capabilities. much like the original wii it is nothing more then a new controler which has already been invented(the tablet). Hopefully next year microsoft and sony come out swinging with new systems because its time.

Justice League Movie Is Happening

That didn't take long did it. Warner Bros. is getting another scrip for a JLA movie going as we speak. I guess after they saw the numbers the avengers were pulling in at the box office DC finally decided to get their shit together. As apposed to the avengers look for this movie to not be connected to the other DC comics movies. Nolan has said his batman is done after the Dark Knight Rises and his world is not connected to any other superheros. Zack Snyder has said similar things about his Superman reboot. It will most likely be all new actors playing the superhero team but I am still hoping they get Tom Welling for Superman from Smallville!

E3 Starts Monday June 4th

E3 starts tomorrow. Expect to see a lot of great video game announcements. The big news this E3 is most likely going to be further details on Nintendo's wii u. I hoping that even though Microsoft and Sony said they will not be making any new system announcements that at least Sony will because according to them the PS4 is coming out before the new Xbox. Here are the conference times. They are in pacific time but just add three hours for eastern time. You can catch the live Microsoft and EA conferences on spike TV and all the rest(including Sony and Nintendo's) broadcast on G4. you can also most likely find live streams for them online or video after they take place.

Nintendo Direct Pre E3 2012

E3 the yearly video game conference where all the biggest video game companies show all their newest games and systems starts tomorrow but Nintendo is getting a little head start tonight showing off their new wii u. Take a look.

Kevin Pereira You Will Be Missed

Kevin Perira's last day on attack of the show was May 31st. They spend the episode remembering Kevin's time on the show and it was well deserved. Hopfully Kevin ends up doing some great things after this becasue he is the realest host I have ever seen. Perira's last appearance on G4 will be for their E3 coverage this week. You will be missed kevin.

The Avengers are still going strong!

The avengers may have been knocked off the number one spot last week in the box office but they are still destroying records. The movie is not only the fastest movie to reach 500 million domestically but is also the 3rd highest grossing film both domestically and internationally beating out The Dark Knight and Harry Potter respectively. The Avengers domestic total is now up to 552 million and I believe over the next few weeks will overtake James Cameran's Titanic but most likely not Avatar.

6/3/12 Box office

Snow white takes Number 1 this weekend with 56 million,  MIB is second with 29 million and The Avengers rounded out the top three with 20 million.

UFC Fight Results

It was an action packed night of fights with the crowning of a new ultimate fighter. In the main event Martin Kampmann finished Jake in the second round via KO. My public predictions are now up to 3-1.

The UFC returns for a free fight no FX this friday. martin kampmann vs jake ellenberger will be the main match up for the TUF live finally. I predict Kampmann will win this fight most likely by submission or close decision.

Avengers Defeated!

The Avengers have been knocked down to the second place spot in the box office in their 4th week with the release of MIB 3. They had a good run on top but they are not done breaking records yet. The movie has made over 500 million dollars and will over take the Dark Knight as the third highest grossing movie of all time by the end of the week. Maybe just maybe it will be the first none James Cameran movie to beat Titanic in the box office as well!

Fight Results: UFC 146

Sorry I am a little late with these but it was a busy weekend. It was an action packed card. I don't think one fight in the main card went to decision. In the two fights I predicted things were pretty 50-50. I was right about Cain winning and using his wrestling but he finished the fight much quicker then i expected(first round stoppage). Mir looked terrible in his fight with JDS. JDS stopped Mir with strikes in the second round with ease. Mir looked like a beached wale at the end of the fight as he was being finished. My official predictions are now at 2-1.

Post fight News Items: Mayham Miller is being cut from the UFC after a disappointing loss to CB Dollaway and JDS vs. Cain 2 is in the works after their impressive victories.

Awake Final Episode

The last episode of Awake is on tomorrow at 10PM on NBC. Everyone watch it! Maye if the ratings go up enough they will save it!

Batman Beyond might be in The Dark Knight Rises!?

This Image of the Dark Knight Rises toy line shows all the characters we know will be in the movie(the three on the left). The two on the right are interesting though. The one on the way right looks a lot like Bruce Wayne but the other figure on the right next to him (Batman without a Cape) looks an awful lot like Batman Beyond. For those that don't know Batman Beyond is from a TV show set in the future when Bruce gets old and has heart problems leading him to give up being Batman. Then Terry Mcginnis steps in and becomes Batman. Many have speculated Bruce might die in this movie. Also no one is quite sure what role Joseph Gordon Levitt will have in the movie even though he is playing a role as "John Blake" a gothem city beat cop. he seems to get a large amount of screen time in the last trailer for this. Maybe John Blake is a cover for Terry Mcginnis.

First Official Dark Knight Rises TV Spot

Breaking Bad returns for the first half of its final season on July 15th. This is without a doubt the best show currently on TV and every season somehow turns out to be better then the last. Hopefully they can do it again and end this show the way it was meant to end.

UFC 146 Predictions

Another week another UFC event. This time we have a stacked heavyweight card with the heavyweight title on the line. Mir (late replacement for Overreem after he failed a drug test) is making an attempt to regain the title he lost many years ago from JDS. Also in the co-main even Cain Velasquez will face Antonio bigfoot Silva. In this match up I believe we will see a pretty clear cut 3 round decision with Cain mainly relaying on his wrestling to win without risking a second loss in a row. The title fight though almost defiantly wont go the distance no matter who wins. either Mir will get knocked out or he will submit JDS. I believe it will be an explosive fight but I think it will end with Mir being hurt with punches by JDS. Then when JDS goes in for the finish Mir will pull out a submission(probably arm lock) for the win.

Strikeforce Grand Prix final tonight at 10

The final match up in the Strikeforce Grand Prix is on tonight. The tournament started out with fighters like Fedor, arlovski, Rogers, Werdum and overreem. Due to some fighters under performing and the UFC picking apart Strikeforce's roaster a relative new comer Cormier was able to advance to the final spot. Now he faces Josh Barnett in the final. Since the UFC holds all the best heavyweights in the world this grand prix title does not mean much in the rankings but it should be a good fight.

Jon Jones Arrested for DUI

The UFC light-heavyweight champ was arrested under suspicion of DUI after crashing his car. Jones was not injured but his image may have been damaged.

Teen Wolf returing for season 2

This show is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know werewolves and teenage drama is a little close to twilight (I hate twilight) but there is just something about this show that keeps me coming back for more. Season 2 premieres June 3rd on MTV.

Nick Diaz lets fans down again

Nick Diaz no showed the world jiu-jitzu Expo where he was suppose to have a grappling match with the jiu-jitzu superstar Braulio Estima. With Nick being one of the best MMA fighters right now it would have been great to see how he fared against one of the the best jiu-jitzu artists in the grappling realm.

Diaz use to hold the welterweight title in Strikeforce until he moved up to the UFC. Once he made the move to the sports biggest organization the pressure appeared to have caught up to him. He was guaranteed a shot at the belt with the current UFC champion GSP until he no showed a pair of press conferences. He was able to rebound with a win over BJ Penn to get another shot at the interim title against Carlos Condit but was defeated.Yet again Nick let down fans not because he lost but he tested positive for drugs after the fight leading to a suspension.

Now he has let down fans again. On the brighter side his younger brother Nate Diaz has just gotten a shot at the lightweight title after winning a number 1 contender bout against Jim Miller. Nate has never backed down from a fight and in my opinion he is the better fighter of the two. Even though the older brother normally sets the example in this case Nick could learn a thing or two from his younger brother.

The Avengers smash more box office records

The Avengers were number 1 at the box office again with 103 million dollars domestically. This is not only the highest second weekend gross but the only movie to gross over 100 million in its second weekend. The Avengers is also the fastest movie to make 1 billion internationally.

Awake Canceled

The best new show on TV was canceled by NBC. This show was loved by critics and those who watched it but it seems it was not getting good enough ratings. Awake was very original, had great acting and an amazing story. That is the curse of network TV though if it is good no one will watch it. on the other hand if it is a reality show about people singing for the chance to be famous it will get renewed for 100 seasons without a doubt. sigh........

Batman Arkham City DLC

For those of you who can't wait until July for the Dark Knight Rises the video game company Rocksteady is here to help you out. They are releasing the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC on May 29th for their hit game Batman Arkham City. This game had it all from great gameplay to an amazing story. If you haven't played Arkham City you need to go out and get it because Arkham city is to video games as the Dark knight is to movies.

Smallville Season 11

The popular television series is back! Smallville ran for 10 great season which comes out to be 218 episodes (the longest running sci-fi TV show of all time). Now the show has returned to its roots in comic book form. In April the comic was released digitally and there will be a new issue every Friday. For those who would rather have their comics in physical form a collection of 3 issues will be released after they have come out digitally. The first physical comic was released on May 2nd. UFC Prediction: UFC on Fuel TV 3

UFC on Fuel 3 will be live May 15th on Fuel TV. This is a small event so I am only going to make a prediction for the main event. I believe the Korean Zombie is going to win and most likely by submission. My public Predictions are at 0-0 right now but hoping to get it up to 1-0 after this event.

Kevin Pereira is leaving Attack of the Show

The popular tech TV show is losing it's long time co-host Kevin Pereira. He has been with the network (G4) for over a decade. His departure will be a major loss to the Show and the network. Many even wonder if G4 can continue airing new programs without him. Pereira's final day with Attack of the Show will be May 31st although he will stay with the network to cover E3 in June. Kevin will be missed.
